Jamtse Tsoling (Compassionate Lake)
Jamtse Tsoling (Compassionate Lake) This lake situated between Tsojhe Khangsar Hospital and Camp No. 2, Tibetan Settlement Bylakuppe is specifically maintained and up-graded by Sera Jhe Health Care Committee to release and preserve the lives that survive in water. It is run under the Animal life saving and preservation programme.
When the committee first took the lake under its charge it was just a pool of water. The committee realized the potential to turn this into a place to release and preserve fish & other beings that can survive there. Thus a project to upgrade this lake was planned. This project was possible with kind financial assistance from sponsors and it was completed in the year 2008.
To make it easier for the public to release fish and other beings that survive in water, the committee build pathway around it and metal railings were erected around the feeding spaces to save the public from accidents. High concrete walls were built around the whole lake to prevent illegal fishing. Benches are provided for the public to relax during the feeding session. Four staff members are hired to look after the lake.
Sera Jhe Health Care Committee would like to express its heartfelt gratitude and may this act of virtue would bring long life and happiness to all the people who have contributed towards its construction.
