This fund is created to extend assistance to many of the monks who lack financial resources. Most of the monks here are those who escaped Chinese oppression leaving behind all their belongings to study and preserve the Buddha Dharma in Sera Jhe Monastery. It is the moral responsibility of the committee to help them. All the unspecified funds donated to SJHCC are kept in EMF.

One of the key programmes being undertaken by Sera Jhe Health Care Committee is emergency medical relief fund for treatment in referral hospitals in various parts of Karnataka state. Our hospital services are limited to primary health care facility as we cannot provide advanced medical facilities in our health care clinic as it is a day care centre. We are striving hard to add more advanced equipment to give better facilities to the monks. We have been supporting patients (monks) for advanced treatment in other hospitals that cover major surgeries and other allied health services, which are currently not available in our hospitals. Earlier we refund 50% of the cost of treatment. From April 2018 the committee has resolved to refund 100% of cost for all treatments irrespective of whether its major or minor.
